   Steam at Allandale was the first in a series of books by Ian Wilson which will tell the story of the Canadian National Railway in Southern Ontario during the 1950s, the last days of the steam era. This book had previously sold out in 2001. After fielding hundreds of requests from individuals and dealers over a period of six years, we decided to reprint the volume. Various typographical errors have been corrected and the locomotive commentary has been updated. Aside from that, the new printing is unchanged.

    Canadian Branchline Miniatures is proud that Steam at Allandale won an international award for design and printing! In August of 1999, Steam at Allandale was chosen to receive the Gold Award in the Gallery of Superb Printing, a contest sponsored by the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen Inc. in which designers and printers from across North America submit their best work. Steam at Allandale was entered on behalf of Canadian Branchline Miniatures by M.O.M. Printing of Ottawa and was chosen by judges from among 3000 to 4000 entries to win the Gold Award.

Synopsis

Turn the clock back more than forty years to the last decade of steam operation on the network of CNR lines radiating out of Allandale, sixty miles north of Toronto and division point of the 672-mile Allandale Division . . . to an era before the automobile, the highway and the internal combustion engine dealt their mortal blows to traditional railway operations.
